People\'s mood is not stable in time. Sometimes we feel happy or sad due to some external influence. For example, if you are paid a compliment or get promoted you feel absolutely happy. And vice versa, if you feel that it\'s not your day and everything is not as you planned you are completely upset and disappointed with your life. From time to time your mood doesn\'t depend on what is happening around you, and your spirits are in accordance with your inner state of mind. To be upset from time to time is absolutely normal. The problem is that for some people this moodiness becomes usual state of mind. A permanent state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect people\'s behavior, ideas and physical state is known as depression. Depression disorder isn\'t just a whim of a person, it\'s a serious medical disorder. It will not clear up of its own accord, you will have to visit a physician and to take some medical products so as to overcome this disorder. The symptoms of depression are commonly described as feelings of sadness, anxiety, hopelessness, emptiness and worthlessness. From time to time depressed people feel themselves guilty or restless. It\'s also particular for depressed people to lose interest to all sorts of activities, to get indifferent to what\'s going on around them. People in depression even find it hard to concentrate on something particular and to remember details. Energy loss, permanent feeling of tiredness and insomnia are also common signs of depression. The most typical treatment for depression is psychotherapy together with administration of antidepressant medical products. The action of most antidepressants is based on slowdown of the process of elimination of some chemical substances from human brain. Such chemical substances are known as neurotransmitters and they are important for regular brain activity. Antidepressants keep neuromediators in human brain for longer period of time, and in such a way the state of mind of a depressed person is becoming normalized. Antidepressant drugs are generally taken during four to six months. But due to their active interaction with other taken medicines you should consult a physician before taking this or that type of antidepressant drugs. |
